Students compared two stories about moles who play the violin. Gustav Mole grows up in a musical family but only decides to study music seriously after a piece of music touches his heart! https://youtu.be/H98Rfljxmsc Here is the song that the whole school did actions for and sang at our welcome back assembly.   Concepts like half notes, quarter notes, call backs and song structure were taught in music class around this fun song. 

Music is a wonderful way to explore history and culture! The jukebox represents different time periods and the globe represents different places. This year students will be hopping in our time machine to imagine how instruments were invented hundreds of years ago, explore 18th Century Italy, learn African rhythms and indigenous medicine songs, and examine how music and music technology has changed in the last century around the world.
